The Move

As some of you know, we have moved back to Texas. It was an epic move to say the least. After ten years of living in the foothills of Colorado's Rocky Mountains our path has changed to lead us back to the flatlands.

I haven't posted too terribly much about all this, because honestly it makes me sad. This is not exactly where we saw our lives going but the way things have been the last few years we should have probably expected it sooner. But that is life, you can always try to plan, but the timing just isn't exactly right.
Or maybe it is!
Maybe that's the whole thing...it's just the way things needed to go.

That's part of what I keep telling myself at least. I might have a small list of statements that help soothe my mind when I think about this transition.

If you didn't know..change is hard! I think most people really don't enjoy it. Being a bit of a control freak myself, I hate it.

And all the change started happening this summer. August began with us saying goodbye to Colorado and hello again to Lubbock, TX. The strangest thing is that we arrived back in town almost exactly 10 years to the day of when Kevin left to come to me (I went to CO about 2 months before him).

Maybe that's another sign: the timing. The way things are trying to fall into place.

So we are back in the 806...

Back where it all began.

So strange.

Honestly, it hasn't been easy. Some things are familiar, some are insanely foreign. Memories come rushing back, old times, good and bad. The energy here is different. I don't know how to calibrate for this setting yet. I have felt more drained the last few weeks than ever before in my life. I'll elaborate more in the coming weeks of what all is going on. Lots of irons in the fire.

I do want to start writing more, sharing more, in this space and maybe on that dreaded social media app. I have found it difficult to do that these last few years. Sharing seemed...I don't know....too much with everything going on in the world.

But community is something I have really missed. I think we all forget, those people following us on the apps, our friends, are exactly that, our friends. Why shouldn't we share our true selves? Why not show the cracks sometimes so we can help each other mend them? They are not our faults, they are truths.

So hello friends! Hello fellow artists, crafters, feelers. Hello people who just want to be people. Hello old and new friends.
I am excited for what the future has to offer all of us.

Let's get a coffee and chat about it. I'm around 😊.
